Sausage firms sizzled by fines

Germany’s antitrust watchdog has had to revoke €238 million (£210m) in fines imposed on sausage manufactur­ers for price collusion because the companies used a now-closed loophole in competitio­n law.

In 2014, the Federal Cartel Office imposed fines totalling €338m on 21 sausage makers – a figure now revised.
