It’s so strange
We can’t allow Bill Jamieson to say mea culpa for the quirks and foibles of modern British history (Perspective, 29 June).
Historically we’ve had the “Strange death of Liberal England,” the “Strange death of social democratic England” and now perhaps we will get the “Strange death of Conservative Britain”.
Arguably, isn’t Bill Jamieson expressing his political psychology of disillusionment, which really is the result of the clash of neo-liberalism with Burkean conservatism? A “battle” Mrs Thatcher’s dark blues won decisively.
