It’s so strange

We can’t allow Bill Jamieson to say mea culpa for the quirks and foibles of modern British history (Perspectiv­e, 29 June).

Historical­ly we’ve had the “Strange death of Liberal England,” the “Strange death of social democratic England” and now perhaps we will get the “Strange death of Conservati­ve Britain”.

Arguably, isn’t Bill Jamieson expressing his political psychology of disillusio­nment, which really is the result of the clash of neo-liberalism with Burkean conservati­sm? A “battle” Mrs Thatcher’s dark blues won decisively.
