Waste of money

The money for free sanitary towels (Scotsman, 12 July), and other free things, such as bridge tolls, could be better used to attract new business to Scotland with, say, 100 per cent capital allowances for plant and equipment in the first year, a move that would also encourage investment by existing businesses. Nothing is being done for the future. All effort goes towards the classic spend and waste of what is essentially an anti-business socialist government.
