2.3 mag­ni­tude earth­quake shakes vil­lages

An earth­quake shook the West High­lands over the week­end.

The 2.3 mag­ni­tude earth­quake at Badral­lach, a few miles west of Ul­lapool, was recorded by the Bri­tish Ge­o­log­i­cal Sur­vey (BGS) at about 9am on Sun­day.

Re­portscame­in­from­res­i­dents at Ul­lapool, Log­gie, Ardessie and Ca­mus­na­gaul with some de­scrib­ing walls “vis­i­bly” shak­ing.

BGS classed the quake as a three on the Euro­pean Macro­seis­mic Scale.
