Tongan prop on his way to Scotstoun
Tongan international prop Siua Halanukonuka looks like he is on his way to Glasgow Warriors.
Media in his home country are reporting that the 30-year-old front-row man is set to move to Scotstoun for the 2017/18 campaign, though the Warriors have yet to confirm the move.
In the last two years, Halanukonuka has made 14 appearances for the Highlanders in Super Rugby and has previously played for RC Narbonne in France and the Tasman Makos in New Zealand.
Halanukonuka was on the bench when the Highlanders defeated the British & Irish Lions last month.
He made his debut for Tonga against Georgia in Tblisi in 2014. He has since earned five more caps.
As a tighthead, Halanukonuka will replace Sila Puafisi, who moved to Brive in the summer.
Incoming Warriors’ head coach Dave Rennie and new forwards coach Jonathan Humphreys will likely see Halanukonuka as good competition for Zander Fagerson and D’arcy Rae.
