Phoney war

I know that I am not alone in being fed up with junk telephone calls, mainly trying to sell government schemes for domestic heating. I have had five today. If you listen they even give you a number to ring to stop these calls. That makes no difference.

If you ring BT they try and sell you a system to stop these calls at quite a cost. They also say that there is not much they can do. Over 20 years ago I had the same problem and didn’t put my telephone receiver back. The caller rang me back next day because his phone had been immobilised until I put my receiver back. I used that for quite a time. Unfortunately BT then changed that system. If they could do it then is it beyond them to do it now, or do they make too much income from these calls? RANALD A.M.
