Kyles earn draw with late fightback
There was drama at both ends of the Marine Harvest Premiership on Saturday, writes Alasdair Bruce.
Title contenders Kyles Athletic and Kinlochshiel drew 2-2 in a match transferred to Tighnabruaich. John Macrae and Jordan Fraser had Shiel two up but Grant Irvine, on 82 minutes, and Sandy Mackenzie earned Kyles a draw.
Newtonmore beat relegation-threatened Kilmallie 6-0 courtesy of Glen Mackintosh’s double, Jamie Robinson, Iain Robinson, Fraser Mackintosh and Peter Carmichael’s own goal.
Lochaber edged away from the relegation zone by beating Glasgow Mid Argyll 4-2. Two from Connor Sweeney, Iain Fyfe and Neil macdonald gave loch a bert he win despite Brian Slattery and Ewen Murray strikes for GMA.
Lovat were 4-3 winners against Glenurquhart at Balgate. Oliver Black and a James Macpherson double counted for the Glen but Danny Kelly’s goal and Greg Matheson’s hat-trick gave Lovat victory.
National Division leaders Caberfeidh beat Oban Celtic 6-1, while secondplaced Skye Camanachd beat Beauly 4-2.
