Hunt for missing man continues into fourth week

-

A fresh appeal has been made to trace a man missing since leaving his home four weeks ago.

Arnold Mouat, 64, was last seen at about 11:30pm on Thursday 6 July in his house in Bo’ness but he is thought to have left at some point during the night.

He was reported missing the following morning and has not been seen since, despite large-scale searches involving divers, mountain rescue and police dogs. One in five farmers in some parts of Scotland are still waiting on vital EU farm payments weeks after a government deadline passed.

More than 2,000 farmers in Scotland have not received the cash amid ongoing problems with a new IT system.

The situation has been branded a “shambles” by opposition parties at Holyrood who say anger is growing among farmers.
