Robinson ready to add to Fir Park squad once again

-

Stephen Robinson has made ten summer signings and the Motherwell manager is not finished yet.

Left-sided defender Ellis Plummer, pictured, is his latest recruit, the 22-yearold joining on a oneyear deal on Thursday after leaving Manchester City.

More reinforcements could follow, says Robinson.

“I feel we have a more competitive squad than we had last year,” the Fir Park boss said. “The team picked itself a little bit. But there are players fighting for places and we have added Ellis to the squad as well. It’s not done yet. Obviously we have got to be clever, there’s not a never-ending budget. But we are always looking.

“I still feel we can do with another defender and another bit of pace up front.” Plummer is no stranger to Fir Park, having made his first start for St Mirren there three years ago when on loan with the Paisley club. He could be in the Motherwell squad to face Rangers at home in the Ladbrokes Premiership opener tomorrow with Ben Heneghan an injury doubt and Steven Hammell out for several weeks due to a hamstring problem.
