Lorna Jack was once again the star as Scotland won their second match in the Women’s T20 World Cup qualifying tournament in Stirling yesterday.

Jack hit 60 in the victory over the Netherlands at New Williamfield on Tuesday and she was at it again, making 46 not out against the USA in a nine-wicket win.

Batting first, the USA posted 110-2 from their 20 overs, vice-captain Kathryn Bryce and Abtaha Maqsood claiming the wickets for the Scots, with opener Shebani Bhaskar top scoring for the visitors with 51 not out.

Sindhu Sriharsha also made 32 off 24 balls to take the USA over three figures.

In reply Kathryn Bryce and Jack got Scotland off to a great start, taking the score to 88 before Bryce fell for 37 off 42 balls.

Jack, along with Sarah Bryce, then saw the team home with the former finishing on 46 from 49 balls including four 4s.

Kathryn Bryce said: “We were really pleased to back up the Netherlands result with another good performance.

“It was tough at the start of the week with all the rain around, but we have stayed focused.”

Scotland are next in action today at 10am, again against the USA.
