Morton Derby delight for Ton
I write this fanzone piece from a packed bar in Chicago. Everyone’s eyes are fixed on the television screens, as the Yankees take on the Red Sox. One of sport’s greatest rivalries.
However, across the Atlanic earlier that day, an even bigger derby had taken place. The Renfrewshire Derby between Greenock Morton and St Mirren saw a dominant performance from Jim Duffy’s side, who ran out comfortable winners against their bitter rivals.
Despite not getting on the scoresheet, all the post-match talk was about the performance of Jai Quitongo. The teenager has returned to the fold this season following a lengthy spell on the sidelines. With four points from a possible six so far, things look to be on the up.
