Auchterarder We had all this discussion only a few years ago and a referendum on 5 May 2011 settled the matter for the UK. It was to keep the first past the post. Far from ‘creating a much-broader discussion of politics’, any form of proportional representation would precipitate the same paralysis we see in countries like France and Italy where different forms of voting occur. – Corrigenda It’s not entirely clear what a “wasted vote” is. Clearly proportional representation is a system that ensures the Pseudo intellectual guff. It’s the nature of any vote that some people won’t get the result they want. – Steve White
