Partick Thistle Strength in depth

Saturday’s tight and uninspiring game was no surprise. Games between the Jags and the Perth Saints are notoriously tight and whoever scores first goes on to win.

Thistle abandoned their normal passing game and went more direct – odd given the experience of the Saints defence. We lacked a bit of composure at times. It is to be hoped we are better on the ball against Aberdeen this weekend. On a positive note it was great to see our strength in depth on the bench. Kris Doolan, Conor Sammon, Danny Devine, Stuart Bannigan and Blair Spittal all sat out the start of the game and with Mustapha Dumbuya and Gary Fraser still to return from injury and the youngsters coming through there’s plenty of room for optimism.
