Patrick Roberts finally clinched his return to Celtic last night and hailed manager Brendan Rodgers as the most significant influence in his desire to rejoin the Scottish champions, writes Stephen Halliday.

The Manchester City winger was pictured leaving Celtic Park after his medical and the club announced soon afterwards that he had signed a season- long loan deal.

He will now be looking torepeat the success he enjoyed during his first 18- month loan at Celtic.
