St Mirren Mighty Morgan

After Lewis Morgan had scored twice and set up Ian Mcshane for the third goal in Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Dundee United, manager Jack Ross described him as a “special player” and it is hard to disagree having seen how well he has developed over the past year and if he plays as well as this – not to mention the quality of his finishing – he can be a huge influence in a genuine drive towards promotion this season.

Saturday’s win was not all about Morgan, though. Having praised the character of the team in the previous week’s fightback with ten men against Livingston, it was great to see the hunger and tenacity as the players fought to be first to every ball against United. This is an exciting Saints team in every department.
