Pressley jnr joins Gilmour for Welsh test

Steven Pressley’s son Aaron and former Rangers prodigy Billy Gilmour are in a 20-man squad named by Scotland under-17s manager Brian Mclaughlin for a Wales double-header this month.

The Scots take on the Welsh on Wednesday and Friday of next week in Llanelli in preparatio­n for next month’s European Championsh­ip qualifying round in Estonia, where they will take on the hosts, Andorra and Denmark.

Former Celtic winger Mclaughlin took charge of the side for the first time last month, when they lost to England and Italy but defeated Turkey at St George’s Park in Staffordsh­ire.

Pressley, who is on the books of Aston Villa, and Gilmour, who made a highprofil­e move to Chelsea in the summer, are among a group of five players in the squad from south of the border–including newcomer Lewis Fiorini of Manchester City. Mclaughlin’s selection includes 13 SFA Performanc­e School pupils.
