Delay at Emirates as 20,000 Cologne fans descend on London

-

Thousands of Cologne supporters thronged Oxford Street in London yesterday, ahead of their Europa League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates.

The match was delayed for an hour, with 20,000 away fans descending on the English capital despite only 3,000 tickets having been issued.

Crowd control became a problem for police as many ticketless fans attempted to gain entry to the home sections of the stadium, while Cologne fans who had bought the correct tickets were unable to gain access to their turnstiles due to the crowd building up in front of them.
