Woman hit by falling panel at train station

An elderly woman has been taken to hospital after being injured when a ceiling panel came down at a station.

The passenger was in the corridor at the Dundas Street entrance of Glasgow’s Queen Street station when the plasterboa­rd panel collapsed shortly after 11am yesterday.

She has been taken to hospital with suspected minor injuries, a Scotrail spokesman said.

There are no reports of any other injuries to members of the public. The spokesman said: “An investigat­ion is under way into exactly what happened.”
