Superb. That’s what we were on Friday night and even more so because our defence looked solid on the night. Bruno Alves was outstanding and was every inch the leader we expected when he arrived. That captain’s armband looks quite the fit on him. Maybe he should just keep it permanently. The result was a massive one for us and, hopefully, we can carry the momentum on to Sunday as we look to reach our first major cup final since we embarrassingly bottled it against Hibs under Mark Warburton. Two players will be vital. Carlos Pena, who looked much better on Friday with his ghosting into the box and finding the net, and Graham Dorrans, who is beginning to stamp his authority and quality all over games.
