Young girl hurt at crossing in hit-and-run

A three-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing in Aberdeen.

The collision happened about 12:30pm yesterday on the city-bound carriageway of Auchmill Road.

Police said the driver of a grey Suzuki Alto initially stopped, but then drove off.

The girl, who was crossing the road with her mother, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where she is being treated for minor injuries.
