Motherwell King Louis

We need to talk about Louis. That Moult has been the signing of recent seasons for Motherwell (all of Scottish football?) is not only beyond doubt but the time has come to discuss his place on the list of all-time great Fir Park strikers.

In Scotland he has hit 47 goals in 91 appearances – not all starts – for a side which has mainly been battling against relegation. His all-round play is superb, his work ethic second to none and, in what is the sign of the truly great, he makes others around him better. Will he hit the final tally of Michael Higdon over a season or the likes of Scott Mcdonald or John Sutton over several years? The answer to the first part is maybe but such is his ability that we are unlikely to keep him long enough to match the latter pair.
