Ross County Heads held high

- John Maxwell

With Scott Fox’s injury and then news that skipper Andrew Davies was unavailable, County were missing a big chunk out of the spine of the team. However, the Staggies could leave Aberdeen with their heads held high, because they made the match competitive and gave the Dons a real fright early on. Joe Lewis will feel he ought to have done much better at the opener, but it was good to see Michael Gardyne unafraid to test the goalkeeper from 30 yards.

Unfortunately, the lead lasted barely five minutes, Ryan Christie dragging Sean Kelly out of County’s back four before slamming the ball into the top corner. Once the penalty was scored there was only going to be one winner, but County gave a good account of themselves.
