Union announces strike dates for teachers’ action over pay dispute
One of Scotland’s main teaching unions has announced a rolling programme of strike action beginning this month over an ongoing pay dispute.

Teachers in St Andrew’s Secondary School, Eastbank Academy and All Saints Secondary School in Glasgow will strike on 23 November.
They will be followed on 30 November by teachers at Kirkintilloch High School, Lenzie Academy and Bearsden Academy in East Dunbartonshire.

“Our warnings over the adverse impact of pay cuts and deteriorating pay and conditions have not been heeded.
“Our representations on the increasing dysfunctionality of the negotiating machinery have not been addressed.
“Our requests for the government’s recommendations and guidance on workload to be given statutory force so employers had to take them seriously have not been actioned.
“Those who should be valuing and supporting the profession are consistently failing to do so.”
