#GENDER

Travis Alabanza, a trans person who was refused access to a changing room in Topshop, sparked an online discussion around the British retailer’s new genderneutral policy. A Topshop spokesperson confirmed that all Topshop and Topman customers are free to use any of the company’s fitting rooms located within its stores. @travisalabanza said: “Who made you in charge of deciding who is woman enough to use your changing rooms? You just lost an easy sale and money.” @katemoross added: “All stores in Topshop have private cubicles and the staff working in them are of different genders yet they still police them.” @Claireshrugged said: “I respect that Topshop want to make life easier for transidentified customers, but compromising women’s safety is an unacceptable consequence.”

#CHINA

Donald Trump has addressed a ‘one-sided and unfair’ trade deal with China. In his remarks, he said he does not blame China for the arrangement, pointing at past US administrations. @franiaq said: “He said that continuously throughout the campaign. After all they’re not stupid and they negotiated a great deal for themselves. Now it has to be fair.” @haguediva added: “He conned everyone. Who would have guessed Mr America First who chooses to make his clothes in China would do such a thing? He wants to be liked. That is all.”

#FREENAZANIN

Nazanin Zagari-ratcliffe’s husband has appealed for his wife to return home in time for Christmas. His charity-worker wife has been jailed in Iran with many believing Boris Johnson’s comments about her being a journalist have increased her prison term. @Tulipsiddiq said: “It seems Boris’ assurances to Iran about Nazanin have been ignored. His errors aren’t funny - for my constituent, this is life and death.” @Rebecca_jones2 added: “Shocking misinformation by Boris Johnson taken up by @IRANMFA and used against #Freenazanin within days of new trial.” @Kazarhoosh said: “It is extraordinary how little Boris knows about the case of Nazanin Zaghari-natcliffe. Almost everything he said is wrong.”
