Robertson winds up promotion intent

Inverness manager John Robertson is looking for his side to defeat Brechin City tonight and announce themselves as promotion contenders.

He said :“This is a really important week. If we can get the right result against Brechin, we are edging really close to the promotion-cha sing clubs ahead of facing St Mirren at our place.”

Inveness have not lost a goal since their 2- 1 defeat at Dum- barton almost two months ago and Robertson, below, wants to build on that platform. He added: “The players have been terrific in terms of their effort. We have made a lot of progress, particular­ly in the defensive side.

“We want to keep that progress going and score a few more goals. Hopefully that will start against Brechin.”

Coll in Seed orf,ZakElbouz ed i and Aaron Do ran could return, but goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams and Felitciano Zschussche­n remain injured.

Former Inverness defender Darren Dods lead sB re chin on their second Highland adventure in three days after a morale- boosting 3- 2 Scottish Cup win over Buckie Thistle on Saturday. It was City’ s first win this season and Dods said: “We have taken a huge boost from winning at the weekend and will look to grab that first league win now. It will be difficult but we will give it a go.”

On-loan Aberdeen striker Connor Mclellan returns but Ryan Mcgeever and Andy Jackson remain injured.
