Man jailed after fatal crash while asleep at wheel

A van driver who fell asleep at the wheel and killed another man near Dunblane has been jailed for four years.

Ion Rusu, who was born in Romania but has been living in London, crashed his van into a queue of vehicles on the A9 on April 20, killing 25-year-old Marek Majewski and seriously injuring two other people.

Mr Rusu admitted causing the death of Mr Majewski by dangerous driving, north of the Keir roundabout.

Mr Majewski’s car was pushed into the back of a lorry and he died at the scene.
