Silence hatred

-

Donald Trump is under attack (again) from sections of the media and politicians; this time for forwarding some material from a UK far right group, hence giving them publicity they otherwise would not have.

Surely the attackers realise that in going after Trump, they are keeping the story alive, hence giving the group even more coverage. A period of silence would be the best policy. The far right group in question, with all the publicity they have had, must think Christmas has come early!

I am writing to express my concern regarding the latest retweet by the President of the United States, which shows an unbalanced, incorrect and completely wrong impression of Islam and I fear that this will serve only to stir up more hatred.

It is shocking that Donald Trump would retweet the tweets without knowing the background or the context. These videos give totally unbalanced and wrong impression of Islam and serve only to stoke up hatred.

Islam is a religion of peace and inclusivity. The actions of a few should not be taken to represent the whole religion of Islam, this will lead to further misunderstandings and mistrust. We feel dialogue is the right way to go forward.

I fear this latest tweet will cause more chaos, hatred and conflict.

President Trump ended his tweet to our Prime Minister with the words: “We are doing just fine”. Can we assume he interprets the word “fine” as an acronym for: “Fearful, Insecure, Neurotic, Emotional”?
