Women outnumber men at Royal Society of Edinburgh

The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) has a council membership that is majority female and is led by its first woman CEO, Dr Rebekah Widdowfield (front row, third left). This follows the election of the first female president, Dame Jocelyn Bell Burnell (front row, centre) in 2014. The new council from April 2018 will continue to be majority female, including five of the most senior positions.
