All dressed up with somewhere to go: Runners get in the spirit of Hogmanay hill race

-

Competitors in fancy dress run across the Pennine tops near Haworth in the traditional Auld Lang Syne Fell race, which attracts hundreds of runners, many in costume. The event attracts both elite runners and those taking part in a fancy dress competition, meaning the field boasts everything from Olympians to an elf and a surfer. Alistair and Jonny Brownlee have been regular competitors in the annual event. The brothers won gold and bronze respectively in the triathlon at the 2012 London Olympics. Every participant who makes it to the finish line gets a free bottle of Daleside beer.
