Man who died in hospital from injuries named

A man who died after being found lying on a road seriously injured on New Year’s Day has been named by police.

John Ogston, 67, was found by a member of the public at the junction of Mains Road and Bayne Squareinth­ehilltowna­rea of Dundee at about 11pm on 1 January. He was suffering from serious injuries to his head and body.

Mr Ogston was helped into a nearby house and then taken to hospital but died on Tuesday.

His death is being treated as unexplaine­d and police are appealing for several
