Festive spectacle: Stage set for Glasgow run of Scottish Ballet’s The Nutcracker show

Scottish Ballet’s critically acclaimed production of The Nutcracker opens for its Glasgow run in the city’s Theatre Royal this evening. The show, a festive family favourite, features dancing snowflakes, toy soldiers and the Sugar Plum Fairy come to life. Devised in 1973 by the company’s founding artistic director, The Nutcracker was revived in 2014 to widespread acclaim. The show runs until 13 January.
