Deloitte man appointed as non-exec at Macfarlane

Packaging firm Macfarlane Group has appointed James Baird as a nonexecuti­ve director, it was announced yesterday.

Baird has also been appointed as chairman of the firm’s audit committee, succeeding Stuart Paterson who was appointed chairman of the Glasgowbas­ed group in September last year.

The group’s new nonexecuti­ve previously led the Scotland and Northern Ireland business of “big four” accountanc­y practice Deloitte, before becoming managing partner of its audit and risk advisory division and chief operating officer in Switzerlan­d.

Baird is currently an honorary professor at Glasgow University’s Adam Smith Business School.
