Queen of the South Season still alive
Despite the low expectations, our Scottish Cup exit at the hands of Partick Thistle proved a missed opportunity. Perhaps feeling the effects of the three-week winter shutdown, the Premiership side looked no great shakes and a replay was the least our performance deserved.
Sadly, our defence gifting chances was again our undoing. Every year when we are knocked out of the cup there is a nagging feeling that it represents the end of our season. If Saturday’s performance level can be maintained, that may not be the case and a sustained push for the playoffs remains a possibility.
Unfortunately, getting our players to build a consistent run of good results is something Gary Naysmith has been unable to do.
