A woman’s touch

-

Larry Nassar, the doctor who sexually abused some of the top US Olympic gymnasts, has been sentenced to 40-175 years in prison in America (your report, 25 January).

There were more than 150 victims whom Nassar preyed upon under the guise of treating them for sports injuries.

Sentencing him, Judge Rosemarie Aquilina said: “You do not deserve to walk outside of a prison ever again.”

The weak UK sentencing regime obviously needs a woman’s touch to toughen it up so can we import Judge Aquilina to teach our establishment what real justice looks like?
