Security review amid ‘hiding’ craze

Ikea has said it is reviewing security measures after a boy spent a night in one of its stores as part of an online craze known as “hiding”.

Abid Mirza discovered the craze when his son went missing in Sheffield. His 11-year-old son disappeare­d after leaving school on Tuesday and was found the next morning.

He had hidden himself in Sheffield’s Ikea. Mr Mirza said his son’s internet history revealed that he had been looking at websites detailing how to hide for 24 hours without being detected.
