Queen of the South Money matters
With no game at the weekend attention turned to off-the-field matters, with club shareholders receiving last year’s financial results ahead of the agm. Although I haven’t seen them, the consensus seems to be that they don’t make great reading. There is a certain irony that they were released during a Scottish Cup week in which we once again find ourselves out of the competition. The financial picture could have been very different had we gone through against Albion Rovers last season, with a money-spinning tie versus Celtic the reward. It will be interesting to hear what plans the board have for generating income. With our crowds only likely to dwindle further this would appear vital to stave off the possibility of a return to part-time football.
