Funds spark head office growth for contractor

- By SCOTT REID

Edinburgh-based electrical contractor Ideal Electrical Solutions (UK) has agreed a funding package to support the expansion of its headquarters in the capital.

The firm, which has secured the funding with Santander, said it had experienced increased demand for its services and the new premises would allow for further growth.

Set up in 2008 by Mark Denholm, Ideal has grown into a team of six office staff and 14 electrical engineers. Its customer base includes residential home owners, letting agents and commercial property developers. A recent project involved the firm working on a renovation scheme for a 282-room hotel in the centre of Edinburgh.

Denholm said: “Having set up the business on my own ten years ago, it’s truly exciting that we are now a 20-staff team winning large contracts across Edinburgh.

“The new property will provide us with significantly more space to handle larger contracts and is key to our future expansion plans.”
