-

0 Adam and Caroline Kearney enjoy their big day after bad weather threatened the event A Glasgow couple’s wedding was saved by local villagers after the ‘Beast from the East’ looked set to cancel their big day.

Adam and Caroline Kearney had been planning their wedding at Culcreuch Castle in Fintry, Stirlingshire, for two years only to have it called off the night before due to heavy snow blocking roads around the 14th-century property.

Vehicles were unable to get within two miles of the venue. It didn’t stop the pair saying ‘I do’ after locals in the nearby village of Killearn gave them free use of the village hall as the couple reorganised their entire day in the space of four hours. More than 70 guests managed to attend the wedding. Local bakery Three Sisters Bake provided a cake and Sloans Bar in Glasgow gave the couple free use of their venue for the reception.

Mrs Kearney, 26, described herself as “still in shock” and thanked locals.
