Dead cow pulled from water in central Glasgow

A dead cow has been recovered from the River Clyde in Glasgow’s city centre.

The animal was found in the water close to the Clyde Arc, known locally as the Squinty Bridge, about 10:15am yesterday.

Police and fire crews attended and helped pull the cow from the river.

The dead animal was secured at the side of the river until it could be taken away. A Police Scotland spokeswoma­n said inquires were ongoing.
