Ashtead’s storm silver lining

Equipment rental group Ashtead got another boost from high demand in the US for its fleet after devastating damage caused by Hurricanes Irma and Harvey.

The group saw a 24 per cent rise in Q3 pretax profit to £194.3 million, while revenue jumped 22 per cent to £916m. The natural disasters contributed incremental rental revenue of $75-$85m.
