Motherwell Iconic winner

-

Motherwell produced another glorious day on Sunday as we knocked Hearts out of the Scottish Cup – and in some style. Another gritty performance was highlighted by a simply ridiculous winner by captain Carl Mchugh, joining Steve Kirk and Colin O’neill on our list of iconic winners in the competition. Like Kirk at Pittodrie in 1991, it was delivered from his “weaker” foot.

The perfect day was completed by avoiding the Old Firm in the semi-finals, though we will be second favourites against whoever we face. Aberdeen could be the preference despite their superior league position. Kilmarnock are on tremendous form and will believe this is their year. Either way, another trip to Hampden is not to be sniffed at.
