Glamping pods plan unveiled for island

More than two dozen “glamping pods” would be built on the former Portree Golf Course under newly published plans.

West Port and Company have come forward with the plans, which also include an accompanying bar, restaurant and reception building. If the proposals are approved, a sauna with plunge pool, a caravan park and 27 singleroom structures with parking off Struan Road would be built in a bid to cater for the booming tourism sector on the Isle of Skye.

The planned development has already been nicknamed the Big Bothy.
