Forth Ports gains quality stamp for Scottish sites

- By SCOTT REID

Leith-based Forth Ports has been awarded an internationally recognised quality mark for its facilities on the Forth.

The firm has received the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) accreditation by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

The ports of Grangemouth, Leith and Rosyth are the first in Scotland to receive full AEO status for security and customs simplification processes. The accreditation follows a full site audit at the ports by HMRC which examined their operational processes, IT, security, storage, procurement and HR procedures.

The Port of Tilbury, which is also owned by Forth ports, received an AEO award last spring.
