Inverness Caley Thistle Cup of cheer

- Lynne Macdonald

This season has been miserable up until now. There has not exactly been a lot to cheer about but winning the Irn-bru Cup has put smiles on the faces of most ICT fans.

It may not have been the best of games, in fact for most of the 90 minutes it was poor. However, scoring a last-minute goal in a cup final is just the best feeling. I thought we were going to have to slog it out for another 30 minutes and was even considering the dreaded shootout after Ian Vigurs’ awful penalty miss. Carl Tremarco had other ideas, though, and popped up in the 93rd minute to put the ball into the gaping net, bringing on scenes of wild elation. Horrible for Dumbarton but a great way to win. It is nice to see the Challenge Cup in residence back in Inverness.
