Dumbarton Season over?

- Jack Crawford

Our season probably ended this week. Saturday’s heartbreak in the cup followed by a thumping at St Mirren, and Inverness winning, too. You’ll often see teams lose their next game after winning a cup final – but nice things don’t happen to us. Saturday, though, was one of the most brilliant experiences I’ve had, and ever will have, supporting The Sons. And it was the most heartbreaking at the same time. No words when ICT scored. Just silence.

That doesn’t excuse Tuesday’s performance, which simply wasn’t good enough. The gap is now seven points, but with two games against Inverness to go it’s not quite over. As it stands, I wouldn’t fancy us to win the play-offs, and it’ll take a lot to happen for me to change my mind.
