Baton charge
As a supporter of independence, every time I read another letter from a Unionist prepared to abandon moral principles to mount their sad little apologies for the brutality inflicted on their own people by the Spanish regime, my spirits lift.
So it was with Keith Howell (Letters 4 April) who says the Catalans blame heavy-handed police action. Of course if you insist on battering your head on a police baton, you deserve everything you get, but the fact is that Mr Howell is afraid of something and it’s not Catalan independence.
