Morton Stick with Duffy
Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Queen of the South dealt a massive blow to Morton’s hopes of reaching the play-offs and has resulted in many supporters calling for the dismissal of manager Jim Duffy. This is a view I cannot get on terms with.
Yes, this season is a step backwards, but stability and long-term progress is something I believe Duffy has provided, and will continue to provide.
Recruitment this summer will be key, though, as the Ton aim to replicate what our Paisley neighbours have achieved this season.
Will the board offer Duffy the funds to mount a real push for promotion, though? And, more importantly, do the board want promotion?
