Man attacked with blade as he sat in his car

A man is in hospital with a serious arm injury after he was attacked as he sat in his car.

The 35-year-old was in Cairngorm Crescent, Wishaw, when a dark-coloured Citroen pulled up behind him. A passenger got out, pulled the victim’s door open and attacked him with a blade before the car sped off.

The man made his own way to Wishaw General Hospital, where medical staff say he is in a stable condition.

Police are appealing for information about the incident which happened at about 1am on Sunday.
