Water music: Performers embrace river theme for this year’s Knockengorroch World Ceilidh Festival

-

0 Lake Montgomery, left, and Cera Impala from the band Delightful Squalor test out a flower-bedecked coracle in the Water of Deugh near New Galloway during the launch of the 2018 Knockengorroch World Ceilidh Festival in Dumfries and Galloway. For this year’s event, festival-goers are being encouraged to dress up as river-related characters. Billed as a ‘global hoedown in the hills’, the festival – which this year runs from 24 to 27 May – has been part of the calendar, in various forms, since the late 1990s.
