Positive steps: Yon Afro Collective tells the stories that are often ignored

The Yon Afro Collective – which sees Hill joined by Najma Abukar, Rhea Lewis, Sekai Machache, and Adebusola Debora Ramsay – seeks to “(re)imagine self” and raise consciousn­ess of existence through alternativ­e space and “(re)imagined place”.

Yon Afro Collective seeks to amplify the lives of women of colour in Scotland and tell stories often ignored. Its latest project will consider how the Black Other is viewed, the installati­on challengin­g the concept of positive initiative­s.
